A casino hotelat the edge of the fjord.

Fjordheim Casino Hotel is a fictional Norwegian casino hotel built into a working quay: forty-six fjord-view casino hotel rooms above the water, a spa on the rock shelf, and a small casino floor in the stone vaults four metres below the tide line.

One quay,
three levels,
one casino.

Fjordheim Casino Hotel has been imagined as a casino hotel that is a hotel first and a casino last.

Forty-six rooms sit twelve metres above the water on the old fish-landing quay. The spa is cut into the rock shelf beside them. The casino floor occupies three stone vaults under the quay, four metres below the tide line, and it opens for four and a half hours a night. Most guests at this casino hotel never go down the stairs, and the hotel is built on that assumption rather than against it.

the water.

The casino floor at Fjordheim occupies three barrel vaults of the original quay, four metres below the tide line. Stone, low blue light, eight tables and a bar — no machines, no screens, no music. It is the smallest casino you will ever be asked to dress for, and the only casino in this concept.

? Casino FAQ

Casino
questions.

What this casino hotel page is, who may enter the casino floor, and how casino gambling actually works in Norway.

No. Norway has no licensed land-based casinos. Gambling in Norway runs as a state monopoly through Norsk Tipping and Norsk Rikstoto, supervised by Lotteritilsynet, and marketing other gambling to people in Norway is prohibited. A real casino hotel like Fjordheim could not legally operate there today, which is exactly why this one is fictional.

No. Fjordheim Casino Hotel is an invented Norwegian casino hotel, written and built to demonstrate casino hotel content and responsive web design. It takes no bookings, holds no gambling licence and processes no payments. The fjord, the rates and the casino floor are all fictional.

Adults aged 18 and over, with photo identification checked at the casino door. Eighteen is the minimum gambling age in Norway. In this concept the casino floor is open to hotel guests and to verified adult visitors from the village, subject to capacity.

No, and most guests do not. The casino floor is one room, open four and a half hours a night, down a staircase you have to choose to take. Casino entry is never bundled into a room rate and nothing about the stay assumes you will play.

Decide a limit in money and in time before you go down to the casino floor, and only play with money you can afford to lose. Never borrow to gamble and never chase a loss. If it stops being fun, stop. In Norway, free and confidential help is available from Hjelpelinjen, and Norsk Tipping operates voluntary self-exclusion for anyone who asks for it.

Casino games are entertainment, not income.

Casino gambling carries real financial risk and is not a way to make money. Set a limit before you play, take breaks, never gamble with borrowed money, and stop when it stops being fun. If gambling is causing harm to you or to someone close to you, free and confidential help is available in Norway around the clock — you do not need to be in crisis to call.
